Seaside Carousel Mall Seaside, Oregon

Seaside Carousel Mall

The Seaside Carousel Mall is home to one of the town’s most charming attractions: a whimsical carousel featuring more than two dozen fancifully painted animals. From classic horses, to rabbits, fish, ostriches, deer, pigs, and bears, each character brings joy to kids and nostalgic fun to adults. Every year, over a quarter-million visitors take a spin, soaking in the tinkly music, sparkling lights, and timeless magic. (During Halloween, the animals dress up in playful masks and costumes, while the soundtrack turns a little spooky. In December, Santa himself often makes an appearance.)

Surrounding the carousel is a lively collection of boutiques, gift shops, snack spots, and restaurants—perfect for picking up unique souvenirs, sipping handcrafted coffee, or enjoying a cozy dinner. You’ll also find family-friendly arcade games and pulse-pounding laser tag just steps away.

The mall itself sits on a historic site. Back in 1920, the Bungalow Dance Hall opened here, turning Seaside into a cultural hotspot after World War I. With big-band music, swaying couples, and surprise visits from stars like Duke Ellington, Bing Crosby, and Glenn Miller, it quickly became one of the Northwest’s favorite gathering places. Guests danced the night away doing the jitterbug, Charleston, and foxtrot—many of them vacationing celebrities who helped put Seaside on the map.
